Dr. Marty Zusman of Indiana University Northwest and his colleague analyzed survey data from 335 undergraduate men at a large southeastern university and found that 31% wanted to marry a traditional wife (woman who viewed her role as staying home and rearing children) (69%ho wanted a career wife (woman who viewed her role as working outside the home in a career with children placed in day-care).  Characteristics of the undergraduate men seeking traditional wives included those who valued financial security over being happy, those who believed that a marriage is weakened when the wife earns more money than her husband, those who believed that children turn out better when one parent stays home to take care of them, those who self-identified as religious, and those who believed that divorce was not an option.  So, while most men in the sample wanted career wives, over 30% preferred a traditional wife.  See the Right Mate room at Heartchoice.com for other issues related to finding the partner that you want.  Also if you want a traditional partner, you can use the Internet and set your profile to find the person you want.
